  • POLYSTYRENE HALF RINGS - flat on base side, gently rounded top and sides surface
  • 2 sizes available. HALF RING FLAT BASE
  • SMALL 25cms diameter by 4cms wide and 3cms deep
  • MEDIUM 30cms diamter by 5 cms wide and 3cms deep
  • Can be rather fragile, N.B. they do not like rough treatment!
  • Unprimed, (without a protective tissue paper covering fixed by painting with PVA) and unpainted
  • Advised to paint with a thick PVA solution to seal the surfaces and give some added strength
  • Followed by a covering of tissue paper layers wrapped round and round over the ring, then seal the paper and fix in position with PVA painted over all surfaces
  • The ring can then be painted with acrylic or emulsion if a coloured background is required
  • The above makes the ring more durable if planning to use multiple pins (best placed at an acute angle into the ring) in the wreath decorating. The holes and channels caused by the insertion of pins at all angles can weaken the ring.
